Fantastic Charity Fun Day
Sharron and Leah at The Highlander Too put together a fantastic Charity Fun Day event on Thursday with stars in your eyes. There were over 20 contestants in the competition and the stars varied from Elvis Presley, Rick Astley, Julie Andrews, Tom Jones, Roy Orbison, Carry Underwood, Ozzy Osbourne, Elton John, Shirley Bassey, Frank Sinatra, Shane Macgowan, Kenny Rogers and more.
The event was a roaring success and 1300.00 Euros was raised for the Kennel Klub and the Red Cross.
Am so pleased that Graham, myself and family and several friends of ours decided to go along to support the event. None of which would have been possible without all the hard working staff at Highlander Too and all the volunteers who helped on the day. Many local businesses supported the event too by donating raffle prizes. This added to the fun along with the Quiz, Bingo and tombola.
The 3 judges for the competition, ´John and Irene Spinks´ and ´Mrs O Linda Kenny´ had their work cut out on the day as they marked each contestant for their Dress, Stage Presence and Voice.
Am proud to announce that Graham Merry of Lanza5star won 1st place after his wonderful performance of Tom Jones singing Delilah. 2nd place was won by Ronnie Hackney who performed as Ozzy Osbourne singing Paranoid and then in 3rd place and winner of the under 16 year olds was our very own 14 year old daughter Larna Merry singing ´Before he cheats´ by Carry Underwood. What a fabulous day had by all and all for two worthy causes!
